Deck the Walls featured Artist : Hamish Macaulay
BYO7”R

This year we are delighted to welcome London based artist and printmaker Hamish Macaulay as our featured artist. On display will be the latest series of artworks from his 7” project and also some vinyl, as Hamish will be spinning some 7’ records throughout the opening party.

The 7" mixed-media project fuses Hamish’s love of collecting and DJing 7” records with his passion for creating art with found materials. An aim of this project is to upcycle unwanted materials into art, creating a second, more permanent life.

The work on show is made up of 45 (the speed a 7" single spins at) unique artworks (ink, aerosol and acrylic) on found corrugated cardboard.

Combining printmaking, mixed-media and digital manipulation, Hamish layers traditional and modern techniques to create fresh perspectives. The subject-matter is a response to encounters with the land and the temporary marks we leave.

Hamish is a member of ArtCan, a charitable arts organisation that supports emerging and established artists through profile raising activities, philanthropic events and exhibitions.

Hamish has exhibited in a number of international galleries. His work is held in private collections in the UK, LA, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
