44AD’s Annual Open Printmaking Show is now in it’s 3rd year.
Edition 3 received a fantastic response from artists all interpreting the theme of smoke and mirrors. The result is an exhibition which features an extensive and exciting range of contemporary printmaking talent working across paper, perspex, plaster, mirror and ceramics.
From etching, monoprint, linoprint, drypoint, woodcut and collagraph to superimposed screen prints on acrylic with colour changing illuminations... this is an exhibition not to be missed!
'All political power is primarily an illusion…. Illusion. Mirrors and blue smoke, beautiful blue smoke rolling over the surface of highly polished mirrors, first a thin veil of blue smoke, then a thick cloud that suddenly dissolves into wisps of blue smoke, the mirrors catching it all, bouncing it back and forth.'
