Join the Artists, Curators and FaB team to celebrate the opening of Fringe Arts Bath Festival 2026 with a donations bar, plus performances, exhibitions & interventions and more.
Through deeply personal expressions and shared experiences, Nest brings together artists who explore themes of health, recovery, and the challenge of articulating what is often left unspoken.
Rooted in her own experiences of navigating a long-term health condition and ongoing recovery, curator and photographic artist Livvy Eden considers art as a necessary form of care and explores how creative practice can aid journeys of illness, recovery, and transformation.
Nest presents a collection of photography, painting, sculpture, textiles, and photobooks, offering intimate reflections on vulnerability, resilience, and connection.
Selected artists:
Giuliana Borrelli, Tasha Bradley, Emily Coghlan, Amy Green, Emily Hansell, Martha Hine, Sarah Hogan, Anya Medlin, Martina Misfud, Becka Anne Morris, Katerina Murysina, Alice Oliver, Ian Potter, Daniel Regan, Alice Rorrison, and Caitlin Isobel Winter.
Male Art brings together artists with a range of perspectives on being male. The exhibition explores spaces where maleness is performed; from public spaces of masculinity to private, domestic and inner worlds. The relationships between an emotional, embodied experience and a culturally sanctioned idea of maleness is a recurring theme. Male Art is a nuanced reflection on identity, expectation, vulnerability, privilege and shame. Ultimately, Male Art hopes to disrupt the patriarchy by repositioning 'male' to an othered, gendered, and intersectional subject.
Fringe Arts Bath (FaB) is voluntary run festival and non-profit. It brings art to the people and visitors of Bath by occupying empty shops, unusual spaces and spilling out onto the streets of the City, with an annual festival, an art prize, and other ad-hoc interventions throughout the year.
It is a platform for early career curators and emerging artists. As a test-bed for new and exciting ideas, FaB offers opportunity for creatives to share their work, develop professional skills by taking part, and even curating exhibitions.
Alongside Nest, there will be 15+ other exhibitions and events taking place across the festival period. Other venues include Old Glassworks, The Artpad, Newark Works, Bath Artist’s Studios, Bath School of Art, Bath Spa University and more.
