"I am an artist living and working in Devizes. I was born in London in 1959. My family moved to Australia in the early 60’s. Adelaide was a great place to grow up; very hot! There was always something interesting to find when out exploring the parks and foothills near my home; rocks, lizards, spiders and the like. We moved back to England in 1976.

After doing my foundation year at Wiltshire College, I did a BA Hons degree in Fine Art at Exeter College of Art and Design and graduated with a First in 1986. I was awarded a scholarship to study at the University of Massachusetts where I completed a Masters Degree in sculpture in 1988. I have taught Drawing and 3D Design at further education level, and evening classes.

Although my training was in sculpture I also work with painting, drawing, collage and photography. Sometimes I feel like a prospector sifting sands and cracking open rocks without any clear idea of what I am looking for. Other times I feel like a gardener slowly cultivating strange plants, inedible fruits, and exotic weeds. I would like to think you will find something in my work that is intriguing, stimulating, enjoyable, and or contemplative.

I like to experiment with processes and materials (sometimes found). I have developed a certain visual vocabulary over the years and it continues to slowly grow. I keep hammering away and when I know what I am looking for I return to my pan handling and cultivating with renewed purpose.

We live in interesting times, but we also live in an endlessly interesting world and ‘time passes'."
