Spring Again

In her paintings, Jo Saurin explores movement, both physical and emotional, and through time and space. Her expressive gestural marks are countered by controlling structures, which suggest connections between the animate and inanimate world. Trees become human and humans are just another element of place.

'Limb' is a collection of two sets of work made in an Italian olive grove and in response to Botticelli's Primavera.

"Nothing is beautiful or loving or political aside from underground  stems and aerial roots, adventitious growths and rhizomes."
