I work intuitively using 'found' images which I adapt and change depending on how the painting evolves, intentionally or through accident, structurally and emotionally.
The paintings, both figurative and abstract, have been made between 2012 and 2015. I want the paintings to be engaging through the subject matter and execution, as well as the ambiguous titles.

Born in West Wales and schooled in Bristol, I studied Fine Art at Reading University in the late 70's where students were actively directed towards abstraction by teaching staff including Terry Frost, Peter Kalkhof and Patrick Jones as well as visiting artists such as Graham Crowley and Stephen Buckley, all of whom are amazing painters. I have had a passion for the arts and painting in particular ever since.

After a career in Human Resources in the corporate world, I have returned to painting full time and am excited to be showing my work of the last three years at the 44AD artspace.
