'The End' is a collaborative songbook featuring songs from local musicians, artists and writers including Emma Shoomith, Jim Blackmann, Alison Hustwitt, Philip Goodland, Sharon Martin, Martyn Plant, Joseph Fuller, and more.
For the publication, each artist has been instructed to create a song around a central theme, and then write it down in the way that they feel most comfortable. The book is an examination of the way in which artists interpret a theme, and an exploration of how they represent and visualise their music in a written form. 'The End' contains manuscript, lyrics, illustrations, directive songs, and traditional re-arrangements.
The event will feature live performances from some of the contributing artists, line-up to be confirmed.
The book will be available for sale on the night. Refreshments will be provided.
